Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AI Mention ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, request a free AI visibility check, or use our audits, monitoring, and advisory services. It also describes the privacy rights available to residents of California and other U.S. states, and how to exercise them.
Who we are
AI Mention provides AI search visibility audits, monitoring, and advisory services for businesses in the United States.

Categories of personal information we collect
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"):
- Identifiers — name, email address, business name, and similar contact details.
- Commercial information — services requested or purchased, and subscription and billing records.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — website usage, pages viewed, and interactions, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
- Geolocation data — the town, city, or service area you provide, and approximate location inferred from your IP address.
- Professional or business information — your website URL, business category, and information about your online presence that we analyze to deliver the service.
- Inferences — conclusions we draw from the above to produce your AI visibility results and recommendations.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, account log-in credentials, or other "sensitive personal information" as defined by the CCPA, and we do not use information for any purpose that would trigger the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems.
Where we get it
- Directly from you, through our forms, checkout, and email.
- From your public online presence (your website and business listings) that we analyze to deliver the service.
- Automatically, through cookies and analytics tools when you use our website.
How we use your information
We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:
- To respond to inquiries and provide free AI visibility checks.
- To prepare and deliver paid audits, reports, monitoring, and recommendations.
- To create and manage accounts, subscriptions, and payments.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve our website and services.
- To communicate with you about your account, results, and relevant services.
- To detect and prevent fraud and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
How we use AI, and AI training
Delivering your results relies on artificial-intelligence models — for example, to query AI platforms the way a customer would and to help analyze what we find. We do not use your inputs, prompts, or business information to train our own AI models, and we do not sell your information or use it for advertising. To provide the service, we send queries to third-party AI providers, which process them under their own terms and privacy policies.
How we share your information
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including:
- Stripe — payment, billing, and fraud prevention.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the service.
- Email providers — to send transactional and service emails.
- Analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) — to understand and improve how the website is used.
- Google services — to retrieve public business-listing data used in your audit.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell or "share" your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link — there is nothing to opt out of.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the following rights:
- Right to know / access — to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it, covering the preceding 12 months.
- Right to delete — to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — though, as noted above, we do not sell or share personal information.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information — though we do not collect or use sensitive personal information in a way that triggers this right.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Residents of other U.S. states
If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have similar rights — including to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising (which we do not do). You may exercise these rights using the method below. Where your state provides a right to appeal a decision on your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email hello@ai-mention.net with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us which right you wish to exercise. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, with proof of authorization.
To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request — typically by confirming details associated with your account or inquiry. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will let you know and may take up to a further 45 days. You may make a verifiable request to know or delete up to twice in a 12-month period, free of charge.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card details on our website or systems. Stripe processes payment, billing, and fraud-prevention information in accordance with its own terms and privacy notice.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep the site secure and functioning. With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand and improve how visitors use the website. You can accept, reject, or manage optional cookies at any time through our cookie banner and preferences panel.
How long we keep data
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service, manage our records, handle disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
